Anita Cleare (MA AdvDip Child Development) is a parenting speaker, writer and coach who supports working parents to balance successful careers with being a parent. She is Director of the Positive Parenting Project. Her book, The/Work Parent Switch, is a positive parenting guide for working parents (available in international editions: USA, German, Polish, Chinese & Romanian).
With an academic background in developmental psychology, Anita has a talent for helping parents to step back and reflect on parent-child dynamics and implement small changes that make a huge difference using evidence-based approaches that really work. Anita’s award-nominated parenting blog ‘Thinking Parenting’ has been listed in the Sunday Times Magazine as a must-read for parents.
Anita is broadcast media trained and acts as an expert spokesperson for brand campaigns (previous brand co-operations have included Lego, Disney, Petits Filous, Meerkat Meals, Vosene Kids and Clarityn). She provides expert consultancy services to production companies developing TV programmes on parenting themes (eg C4 It Pays To Behave) and contributes to product development, ideation and consumer research processes to ensure that new products and services meet the needs of children and families.
An accredited Triple P® parenting facilitator, Anita has been working with parents for nearly 20 years. Before founding the Positive Parenting Project, she worked for a local authority children’s services managing specialist family support services including Sure Start children’s centres, parent helplines, teenage pregnancy prevention projects and intensive family support services.
