Expert Biography

Daniell Morrisey is Senior Editorial Early Careers Schemes Manager at the BBC, leading world-class apprenticeships, trainee schemes and pre-employment programmes in TV, radio and digital production, journalism and production management. He was formerly the Head of Talent for BBC Entertainment & Music and BBC Factual Entertainment & Events, part of BBC Studios, where he worked with the execs of shows from Strictly Come Dancing to Dragon’s Den, Top Gear, Children in Need, Comic Relief, The Proms and ceremonial events including the Royal Wedding. He was previously Head of Talent for BBC Comedy where he was responsible for recognising and recruiting Directors, Producers and Executives to develop, produce, and deliver award-winning comedy content for television, radio, and online, including Mrs Browns Boys and Inside No 9. Prior to that, he was Talent Executive with BBC Children’s, primarily crewing CBeebies shows. Other roles included Business Manager with BBC Vision, the in-house production arm of the BBC comprising Factual, Entertainment, Comedy, Drama, Children’s and Multiplatform programming, HR Partner to BBC’s Entertainment, Comedy and Drama departments, head of recruitment for BBC NEWS and director of the News Sponsorship Scheme, a trainee scheme for broadcast journalists. Prior to joining the BBC, Daniell spent many years in the commercial sector recruiting journalists and editorial staff for print, interactive and broadcast sector, working with a range of companies including Virgin, ITV and AOL. Daniell is an executive and career coach, coaching supervisor and, having started his career as a journalist and magazine editor, still writes about career matters.
