Dr Ben-Ari is a psychologist and author, who has worked as a family and couples therapist for over 20 years. Specialising in relationships, child development, and child and parent mental health, she has dedicated her career to helping families overcome challenges with both practical and emotional support and counselling. She recently launched The Village, an online parenting community empowered by experts.
After gaining both a Bachelor’s Degree and a Masters in Social Work, focusing on Clinical Child Development, Dr Ben-Ari was awarded a doctorate in psychology at the Institute for the Study of Children, Families and Social Issues at the University of London. Based on her extensive research and clinical work, she then went on to write two successful books: Amazon Best Seller ‘Small Steps for Great Parenting – An Essential Guide for Busy Parents’ and children’s fiction ‘The Lost Book’, a teaching story demonstrating how frustrations between children and parents can be turned into a positive experience.
Dr Kalanit Ben-Ari frequently teaches and lectures on a variety of topics and is a certified workshop presenter for some of the best-known parenting programmes in the UK including ‘How to Talk so Kids Will Listen’ and ‘Connected Parents - Thriving Kids’. She has also developed her own unique programme for parents which she teaches in parenting groups at her private clinic in Hampstead, London as well as at local community and educational centres. These popular courses have moved online during lockdown.
A regular in the national press, Dr Kalanit Ben-Ari is frequently called upon for expert comment by magazines Cosmopolitan, Grazia and Stylist, and newspapers the Evening Standard, The Independent and Metro. She has contributed to podcasts The Parent Hood and Balance, Instagram Lives with Lorraine Candy, and featured on BBC Radio London.
