I am a qualified Clinical Psychologist and author. I specialise in working compassionately and therapeutically to help people recover from trauma, anxiety & depression. One of my specialities is helping adults to overcome traumatic or challenging childhoods. I love media work and have been featured by a number of leading publications and organisations including: BBC News, The Guardian, The Telegraph, Vice UK and many more (see below). I write and talk about a variety of topics including: Mental Health, Trauma, Compassion, Grief, Parenting, Grandparenting, Needle Phobia, Anxiety, Depression, Guilt & Shame. I can tailor to your needs. Just let me know what you're looking for and if I can't help it's likely I know someone who can!
My book, The Grief Collective: Stories of Life, Loss & Learning to Heal is a unique collection of 54 real life stories about people who have experienced grief. It was put together after the realisation that people often didn't know how to talk to people about grief and so often just said nothing so as 'not to upset' that person. The Grief Collective aims to support people through grief but also to guide people on how to support and understand those who may be grieving for whatever reason - as grief is not always about death!
I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing (EMDR) which is an evidence-based treatment approach for people recovering from trauma. Compassion Focused Therapy runs through all of my work, including my media work.
I love writing and talking. I have written for a variety of publications including: The Guardian, The Telegraph, Platinum Magazine, Vice UK, Yahoo Online, Grazia Daily and many more. I was also interviewed live on the BBC News by Joanna Gosling. For more information about my media work please click: https://www.goodthinkingpsychology.co.uk/media
