Holger is a Professor of International Law and EU Law at King's College London, where he leads King’s LL.M. pathway in International Dispute Resolution and the Forum on International Dispute Resolution. Holger has served as a Specialist Adviser to the EU External Affairs Sub-Committee of the House of Lords and the EU Select Committee of the House of Lords. He was a co Executive Vice President of the Society of International Economic Law and co-director of the Red Latinoamericana de Derecho Económico Internacional. His research covers international and EU Law and was awarded with an Otto Hahn Medal, an Otto Hahn Award and a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship. Before joining King’s, Holger was a Référendaire at the Court of Justice of the EU. He is admitted to the bars of Germany and the State of New York.
Holger has been an expert witness before committees of the House of Commons, the House of Lords, the Scottish Parliament and the German Bundestag. He has appeared on the BBC and Euronews and is frequently cited in national and international news media.
Holger is fluent in German, English, Spanish, French and Italian. None of that helps him when playing Uno with his two small kids, however.
