I undertook a Batchelors degree in Biochemistry followed by a PhD in Neuroscience at UCL. I am now a post-doctoral research scientist in Neuroscience at UCL working on degenerative diseases. I have completed a research project on inclusion body myositis- a muscle wasting disease that affects older people. It is the most common inflammatory myopathy and currently has no treatment. I then moved onto working in motor neuron disease and frontotemporal dementia, running a pre-clinical trial of a novel drug which was key to taking the drug to human trials.
As well as a scientist I am also a mum to two wonderful kids.
