My name is Rozmin and I trained at Regent’s College, in London, achieving a Master’s Degree & Post-Graduate Advanced Diploma in Integrative Psychotherapy. I am registered with UKCP & I am a Senior Accredited Member of BACP. These are the two main principal regulatory bodies for Psychotherapists & Counsellors.
I have over 20 years of experience working as a psychotherapist and counsellor, which has given me extensive knowledge of working with adults and adolescents who present with mental health issues. I also have experience of working with people suffering from trauma, panic attacks, anxiety & bereavement issues. Additionally, I have also worked with long entrenched depression, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder, dissociation & non-epileptic seizures. More recently, my experience has been using a short term solution focussed model with students at the University. Furthermore, I practise Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET) in cases of trauma and post-traumatic stress disorder.
My psychotherapeutic practice model is an amalgamation of the humanistic approach: looking at the mind, body and spirit; whilst always having client choice uppermost, to support existential change, by exploring emerging phenomena within the therapeutic interrelationship. My therapeutic model therefore is integrative, incorporating ideas from several approaches that encompass a Person Centred approach, using Gestalt & Existential Phenomenology.
I speak Kiswahili and various different Asian languages, practising inter-cultural counselling. I work with individuals on a one-to-one and groups over a short or long term basis. I practise near Retford in Nottinghamshire.
I have substantial experience of providing psychotherapy in a NHS high secure Hospital, as well as Adult Community Mental Health Services, and charity organisations. I accept referrals from Employment Assistance Programme (EAP), directly from GPs (from patients with private health insurance) and Psychiatrists as well as private work.
Integrative psychotherapy helps to look at personal situation within a range of different approaches enabling choice and changes to occur.
I have supported clients overcome a wide range of difficult complexities to help them face the future with hope; often encountering great propensity to want to heal and overcome adversity.
My aim in therapy therefore is to help individuals have the capacity to manage their past and make meaningful choices giving them fulfilment in the future.
My special interest and experience is working with:
Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia
Attachment and dependency issues
Childhood sexual trauma
Dissociative disorder, depersonalisation, derealisation
Existential life issues
Extreme anxiety, with or without panic attacks
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
