Surlender is an entrepreneur, in early 50's, mum, glam ma and like most of us, used to juggling about 50 roles in life and lives in the Black Country, West Midlands with her family.
She had worked in a financial corporate background for 20 years before starting her business Love Writing Co. developing a range of children's writing resources all designed to make the art of learning to write easier, quicker and fun for children.
Whilst bringing up 2 children as a working single mum, Surlender had a successful 2nd job as a self-employed makeup artists which enabled her to be creative and have a taste of the benefits of running your own business.
Surlender has successfully launched a new challenger product to market via eccomerce platforms with quickly gaining knowledge in marketing, product design and sourcing as well as access to finance. She has worked with partners such as Department Of Trade, Chambers Of Commerce whilst undergoing intense business growth programs such as Aston Growth Program and Natwest Entrepreneur Program to gain valuable skills and knowledge.
Today as the business is growing after the challenges of COVID had delayed launching into the school and trade sectors but now is the time when children need help and support more than ever with literacy and learning to write.
Supporting other businesses especially female led business is a key area that she is looking to support to encourage more females to innovate and start their entrepreneur journeys no matter what age or background by providing mentoring in key areas as marketing, product supply and manufacture as well as access to finance.
She is mentor on the Black Pounds Project and has supported Wolverhampton University and University Of Birmingham by providing mentoring to students in marketing and business sectors.
