After close to 30 years in commercial roles, management consulting, and tech startups, Tania left a job as a CMO for digitally native technology services group The Panoply PLC to set up a non-profit organisation, We and AI. We and AI is focused on empowering the wider public to have a voice in discourse around the governance and use of artificial intelligence and data driven systems in the UK. This is needed in order to make technology more equitable and beneficial for minority and marginalised groups underrepresented in the AI workforce and decision making.
Tania is an Advisor for ETIQ AI, an algorithmic bias scanning software startup, on the Founding Editorial Board of the Springer AI and Ethics Journal, and a Group Lead in Tech London Advocates for the Tech for disAbility Group. She has been recognised as one of 2021's 100 Brilliant Women in AI Ethics, and is a member of the Women in AI Ethics Algorithmic Auditing Working Group. Past education includes an Executive MBA and a diploma in Digital Business Leadership.
Tania speaks on the need and mechanisms for public engagement for trustworthy Artificial Intelligence, including general AI literacy for non-technical people, and on increasing diversity and responsibility for and in AI within organisations. She is currently involved in launching a programme to bring understanding of racial bias in AI systems into communities.
