I am Victoria Cooper - an experienced, qualified and Certified Canine Behaviourist and Dog Trainer with over 30 years experience in teaching people how to train their dogs. I am dedicated to supporting owners to understand their dogs and build a better relationship. I founded People & Dogs in 1994 which is a successful dog training school in North East Derbyshire and Sheffield. Myself and my team of trainers, train and guide over 1000 dog owners a year. I have also been consulted as a freelance Behaviour Consultant with the Sheffield (RSPCA) Animal Shelter, and by Sheffield Dog Rescue and Rain Rescue. I have also acted as Expert Witness in several Dangerous Dogs court cases. I have spoken to BBC RAdio sheffield numerous times on various subjects relating to dogs. I specialise in helping dogs with aggression, fear and reactivity and have a particular interest in foreign rescue dogs. I am also a coach and mentor to other pet professionals. As a woman in business I am aware of other young or inexperienced women entering the profession and needing support in their studies or in building their businesses. This fast growing profession is typically based on self employment and is dominated by female trainers. Many students of dog training and behaviour acquire theoretical qualifications but have minimal business or practical teaching experience. After coaching numerous other trainers and volunteers over the last 30 years, many of whom are now professional trainers running their own businesses both nationally and internationally I set up a bespoke mentoring and support service for new and studying trainers and behaviourist to give them essential guidance and support gained through my many years of experience. I also run an international support and discussion group for new trainers and behaviourists which has grown to nearly 600 members in the last 6 months. Victoria is a full member of the International Canine Behaviourists, ICB and a Certified Canine Behaviourist with the International Companion Animal Network ICAN as well as a member of the Pet Professional Guild. She is also a Canine body Language Instructor with The Dog Training College.
