Waseem Mirza is an award-winning British TV Technology Presenter / Expert Commentator & Pundit, Freelance Journalist, and a working Screen and Voice Actor with a penchant for sci-tech!
He is among the UK's earliest adopters of the world's first series-production, fully electric hatchback vehicles. He's covered the latest developments in science and technology, including the world's first edible 3D-printed raspberry, the search for the Higgs Boson, to the breakthrough battery cell in Cambridge, that stores energy by breathing in the air around it.
He has presented and reported on a range of programmes from regional TV news in the East of England and Home Counties - where he was the lead launch Presenter for the prime-time 8pm News bulletin after Eastenders - to the BBC's flagship international technology news feature show: Click. His first TV report for the show was about the late Steve Jobs declaring that without innovation, the Personal Computers' days were numbered. Some experts claimed society was now living in the post-PC era. Reporting that would prove prophetic with the subsequent launch of the iPhone leading to the smartphone era.
He's been named TV Hotshot by Broadcast (magazine), as part of their influential annual list of Britain's top TV talent under 29. The top trade magazine described him as one of a new generation of truly multimedia journalists.
In Screen Acting, 2022 sees Waseem's debut in a major DC Comics origin story adapted for television, produced for HBO by Warner Bros. His first film acting role the year before, saw him play Dr Hamid in the multi award-winning British Film, "Beyond Belief: talking to the dead", released and distributed by BBC co-production partner: The Open University. The film won twice at the 31st Crownwood International Film Festival in July 2021.
He previously made his debut on the daytime BBC Drama series Doctors whilst still a student but continues studying to enter television journalism, before going full circle in 2019 when he embarked on formal actor training.
Waseem continues to balance a busy and diverse performance career across television, film, video games and corporate video and audio projects for a range of clients including the world's largest bank. He is a member of the ABSW - Association of British Science Writers and a proud member of Equity.
